We are so proud of our talented authors! We had many finalists and winners in multiple book awards this season including The Reader Views Awards, The 2017 BMS Book Awards, The 2016 Foreword Indies Book Awards (12 She Writes Press mentions!) and The IBPA Benjamin Franklin Awards.

Nadine Kenney Johnstone had multiple articles published to promote her forthcoming memoir.

Of This Much I’m Sure author Nadine Kenney Johnstone had her article “IVF Treatments Strained My Marriage. Here Are 3 Things That Got Us Through” published on Mind, Body, Green. Hitched Magazine also ran her article “6 Things to Know Before Starting Infertility Treatments.”

Mary Fillmore was named Indie Book of the Month.

Mary Fillmore’s An Address in Amsterdam was chosen by Kirkus Reviews as one of its Indie Books of the Month for March 2017.

Jennifer Richardson had her essay published.

Americashire: A Field Guide to a Marriage author Jennifer Richardson had an essay published on Fiction Advocate.

Karen Lee is hosting her own writing course.

Karen Lee, author of the newly published memoir The Full Catastrophe, is putting on a course at the Alexandra Writers’ Centre in Calgary, Alberta. This course will focus on three parts – the writing skills required, the journey of change you want to write about, and having the courage and persistence needed to tackle difficult personal subjects. Joanne Doucette’s Last Seen received a stellar review by Kirkus Reviews calling it “A missing person tale with a strong setting and cast of characters.”

Michelle Cox won first place in the Chanticleer Awards.

Special congratulations to Michelle Cox! A Girl Like You won 1st place in the Mystery & Mayhem Category at the Chanticleer Awards. She also discussed the delight in writing mystery on Women Writers, Women’s Books.

Annette Gendler was featured as a must-read this spring.

Jumping Over Shadows author Annette Gendler was featured in Redbook Magazine’s20 Books By Women You Must Read This Spring, “Culturalist’s “Must-read memoirs navigating the universal experience of love” and Buzzfeed’s “5 Powerful And Timely Memoirs For 2017.” She also wrote an essay for Kveller titled “My Kids’ Purim Costumes Come From Home Depot. Yours Can Too” as well as an essay on Forward’s The Sisterhood titled, “In Defense Of The ‘Little’ Seder.”

Rita Sever helped teach people about the importance of leadership in the workplace.

Laurel Davis Huber received a Foreword Review.

Laurel Davis Huber’s The Velveteen Daughter was reviewed by Foreword Reviews saying “Huber’s richly textured language is a wonder to behold.”

Romalyn Tilghman was featured in multiple publications.

To the Stars Through Difficulties author Romalyn Tilghman wrote an essay on Fourth and Sycamore. She was also featured on Centered on Books blog and received a review in Library Journal.

Iris Waichler gave advice on how to care for multiple people at once.

Iris Waichler, author of Role Reversal: How to Take Care of Yourself and Your Aging Parents, was interviewed by SheKnows on how to manage your “Sandwich Role” as caregiver for both your kids and parents. She also wrote a piece for Path 2 Parenthood on infertility.

Jeanne Blasberg was featured as a summer must-read by Redbook Magazine.

Jeanne Blasberg’s Eden was included in Redbook Magazine’s roundup of  “20 Summer Beach Reads to Stock Up On Now.” She also had her article featured in The Huffington Post.

Judith Newton’s book was listed as a hilarious must-read.
